Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. We work every day for a fair and just society where all people have the opportunity to make choices that lead to better lives for themselves and their families.Purpose of Position : The Driver is responsible for driving and maintaining the company vehicle used to transport food to and from locations within the New York City area. May be asked to fill in for other routes as needed.Schedule : Part-time 20-25 hours per weekHourly Rate : $20.00Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential DutiesProviding efficient and safe delivery of meals within the NYC AreaOperates a refrigerated truckOperates a hand truck to assist when making deliveries.Delivers orders to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time.Provide professional customer serviceKeeps vehicles clean and in good operating condition, assist with the oversight of maintenance of vehicle.Inspects vehicles daily and reports any operational or structural defects immediately.Reviews vehicle documentation to ensure inspections, registration and insurance information is up-to-date.Maintains accurate daily log of deliveries.Interacts with staff at various locations to ensure best practices.Adheres to schedules and driving routes.Keeps daily gasoline and mileage records.Picks-up and returns vehicles to garage or parking place daily.Qualifications / Educational RequirementsHigh School Diploma is preferredA valid NYS Driver’s License.2 or more years of driving experience in NYC or high traffic areas.No more than 1 moving violation in 24 months.Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesDemonstrated sensitivity to an aging population.Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus.Able to work on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.Physical RequirementsAble to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.Work EnvironmentOn-siteWe are committed to building an inclusive workplace community grounded in respect for differences.
