What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account/Program Management Intern [Summer] position at Godfrey Dadich Partners?
GDP combines the best of advertising, journalism, identity, and digital to help brands tell better stories. We are looking for a summer intern to join our Account Management (AM) and Project Management (PM) teams.
Collectively, our talented crew of editors, writers, creative directors, video producers, and brand strategists have created an award-winning Netflix series, redesigned National Geographic magazine, made a documentary about iconic sneakers, and spearheaded the launch of Microsoft’s WorkLab digital publication, which includes newsletters, reports, feature stories, and a podcast.
The AM/PM intern will gain hands-on experience in account and project management by learning directly from team leads, supporting internal teams, and collaborating across departments to ensure smooth project execution. They will also gain industry knowledge, track project progress, and contribute to real client work, while also participating in a cross-functional intern pitch project. Our clients include large tech corporations, media companies, arts and culture organizations, and nonprofits.
The candidates most likely to thrive are self-starters who prefer trying to solve a challenge their own way first before collaborating with others. They are comfortable receiving an assignment or directions and then running with the project, taking responsibility for communications with their team when they want assistance or guidance.
This is a paid hybrid role in San Francisco.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work directly and learn from AM/PM team leads across multiple client accounts about how they manage the day-to-day client interactions, provide exceptional support to the internal teams, and cultivate strong relationships with senior clients
- Develop a strong understanding of GDP’s clients, their industries, businesses, and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with Account and Project Managers to create schedules, build staff plans, and develop budgets based on scopes of work, client briefs, and input from department leads
- Support account leads in ensuring internal teams are properly briefed on deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and budgets
- Learn to identify opportunities to expand client accounts by analyzing their business needs, recommend additional services, and present strategic proposals to drive client growth and strengthen long-term relationships
- Review and evaluate work from our creative, strategy, editorial, and production teams through the lens of client needs, ensuring all content is compelling and on-brand
- Actively track all assigned projects and keep department and project lead(s) abreast of workload and day-to-day updates
- Assist AM/PM teams in communicating team needs, project gating issues, resource needs, and general updates throughout the project life cycle
- Collaborate on an Intern Pitch Project that gives interns from different teams an opportunity to work together to create a proposal and build a pitch from the ground up
Qualifications include:
- A commitment of up to 40 hours a week from June through August
- Possesses a hungry, strategic mind that is happiest when learning something new, and sees difficult problems as an opportunity for creativity
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented in a production-intensive environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Comfortable with handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
