Godshall's Quality Meats is an employee-owned company producing premium smoked meat products for the US and international markets. We are currently looking for a Mechatronics Technician to join our team in Telford, PA.
Schedule
Monday through Friday plus Saturdays and mandatory overtime when needed.
1st shift 5:00am – Approximately 3:30 pm
Hours may vary. Hours are subject to change.
Job Purpose
The Mechatronics Technician supports the design, development, installation, and maintenance of automated systems and machinery. With expertise in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, with a strong understanding of robotics, PLCs, and integrated technologies the Mechatronics Technician ensures the smooth and efficient operation of our systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary job duties and responsibilities include:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechatronic systems including robotics, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new automation and control systems into existing equipment.
- Conduct system diagnostics, testing, and calibration to ensure precision and performance standards.
- Program and configure PLCs, HMI, and other controllers to meet operational needs.
- Work with mechanical, electrical, and software components to identify and solve complex technical issues.
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, and system configurations accurately for compliance and record-keeping.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including system upgrades and optimization projects.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and other team members as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job include:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in Mechatronics or Automation Technology is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and computer control systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming, robotics, and automated systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting and system calibration.
- Familiarity with CAD software and system design is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position, with flexible working hours based on operational needs.
- Primarily based in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Occasionally travel to field sites or customer locations for installations, repairs, or troubleshooting.
- Exposure to noise, machinery, and mechanical hazards in a factory or plant environment.
- Availability for on-call support or after-hours assistance during system downtime or emergencies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Capability to climb ladders or work at heights when servicing equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, including cold or hot environments.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and dexterity for handling delicate tools and components.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or awkward positions when necessary.
