Hydraulic Technician

Job Summary:

The Installation Technician – Hydraulic Plumbing is responsible for installing hydraulic systems, hoses, pumps, and plumbing components on dump truck bodies and equipment. This position requires mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install hydraulic hoses, fittings, pumps, and controls on truck bodies and equipment according to work orders and schematics.
• Measure, cut, and route hydraulic hoses and plumbing lines properly.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic equipment.
• Test hydraulic systems for leaks and proper function after installation.
• Troubleshoot and correct hydraulic plumbing issues as needed.
• Work with welders, fabricators, electricians, and paint technicians to complete the build process.
• Keep accurate records of parts used and work completed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Communicate any issues, missing parts, or delays to the supervisor immediately.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and plumbing installation — Mechanical experience is preferred but not required (we will train motivated individuals).
• Ability to read and follow schematics, instructions, and work orders.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move heavy parts (up to 75 lbs.) during the shift.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a positive work attitude.

Preferred Skills (but not required):

• Previous experience with hydraulic systems, plumbing, or heavy equipment installation.
• Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
