Job Summary:
The Powder Coat Technician is responsible for applying powder coating paint to truck bodies, parts, and equipment according to company quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare parts and truck bodies for painting.
- Set up, operate, and maintain powder coating spray guns and equipment.
- Apply powder coating evenly and correctly to meet thickness and quality standards.
- Follow work orders, safety procedures, and company policies at all times.
- Inspect finished products for proper coverage, color match, and overall appearance.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment.
- Assist with material handling, moving parts, and staging work as needed.
- Communicate any equipment issues or quality concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of painting or powder coating processes (experience preferred but not required β we will train the right person).
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move heavy parts throughout the shift (up to 75 lbs.).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Preferred Skills (but not required):
- Previous experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or similar trade.
- Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.
