GCG is currently seeking a Category Manager to join our Connectivity and Power Solutions division, supporting the Seacoast business unit.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing category-level strategies, managing key supplier relationships, and driving procurement initiatives that enhance supply chain performance and support business growth.
The Category Manager will lead efforts in supplier selection, cost savings, risk analysis, and rebate management, working collaboratively with sourcing, planning, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with preferred location in either Chesapeake, VA or Collegeville, PA.
What you’ll do
Category Strategy & Execution
- Develop, update, and implement annual commodity strategies based on stakeholder input, supply base assessment, and risk analysis
- Define vendor strategy and execute RFQs aligned to business objectives
- Manage supplier performance and compliance through scorecards and key performance metrics
Supplier Relationship Management
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives, including regular Supplier Business Reviews (SBRs)
- Establish, track, and manage rebate programs and cost-saving initiatives
- Evaluate, onboard, and develop vendors to build strong, reliable partnerships
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sourcing Specialists and Inventory Planners to execute category plans
- Align with other GCG business units to maximize leverage and synergies across the organization
- Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives to optimize supply chain performance
Performance Management & Reporting
- Establish and monitor procurement policies, procedures, and KPIs
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and cost optimization
- Support the Purchasing Team in meeting productivity goals and driving accountability
What you’ll bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
- 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or distribution management
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused distribution environment is strongly preferred

- Hands-on, action-oriented with a sense of ownership and accountability
