Seacoast, a GCG Company, is currently seeking a Utility Technician/Delivery Driver who wants more than just a job. This role involves essential preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of our facilities machinery to keep our operations efficient. You'll also deliver our military spec and commercial shipboard cable products, representing our company with professionalism and punctuality.

Location: 3800 Cook Blvd Chesapeake, VA 23323
Schedule: 7:30AM-4:30PM Mon to Fri
What you’ll do
- Perform routine preventative maintenance per manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery and make repairs when necessary
- Familiarize with the operation and upkeep of company equipment
- Load, transport, and deliver items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner
- Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, and the customer is satisfied
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
- Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials
- Deliver or route materials to departments, using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins
- Perform shipping and receiving duties as needed
- Log local deliveries into logbook for accountability and record keeping
- Recognize any safety concerns and report them to management when needed
- All other duties as necessary; including working in production when needed
What you’ll bring
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Mechanical ability sufficient to understand the operation of equipment
- One to three years of related experience
- Ability to operate machinery
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and fix machinery
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Must have excellent and clean driving record
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs
- Time management
- Commitment to safety
- Experience with Oracle or comparable ERP system beneficial but not required
