Crisis Intervention Professional

A part-time opportunity is available for an individual to assist in providing daytime crisis coverage during the designated normal business hours. The Crisis Intervention Professional provides face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention and referral services to persons experiencing psychiatric or other mental health emergencies, collaborates with providers and other referral sources to ensure coordination of care for the person served, and works with psychiatric hospitals and service providers to coordinate follow up of mental health services for persons being discharged from an inpatient hospitalization. In addition, the Crisis Intervention Professional works with local law enforcement and judicial systems to assist with jail diversion for persons with serious mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or co-occurring disorders.

The successful candidate shall possess a bachelor’s degree in social work with State of Michigan licensure as a Bachelor’s Social Worker (LBSW) or Limited Licensed Bachelor’s Social Worker (LLBSW) or be a human services professional with at least a bachelor’s degree in a human services field. A current driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle are required. At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, adults with mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbance and/or co-occurring disorders is preferred. This position offers a variable schedule during our normal business hours dependent on their availability. Number of hours can be negotiated according to availability with a desired minimum of 16, and maximum of 29. A complete job description is available through the Human Resources Office.
