Job Summary
The Medication Aide plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to individuals with various health needs, including those with developmental disabilities. This position involves administering medications, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in a healthcare setting. Duties
- Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns to nursing staff.
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and some mobility support for individuals with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and resident care in accordance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each resident.
- Support residents in engaging activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being.
- Preparing Meals and general cleaning as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in medication administration is preferred.
- Compassionate approach to working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or other special needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of following protocols for medication administration and patient safety.
- You are not required to be certified when starting, but will need to obtain both First Aide/CPR and Level 1 Med Aide certifications.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background screening check. We have a zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
- Must be willing to work 1 weekend day (either Saturday or Sunday) each week.
