Role Objective
Provides technical capability in support of the development, commercialization, and improvement of products that have competitive advantage (add value, hard to duplicate, neither over nor under designed). Uses engineering best practices, attention to detail, effective communication, and team collaboration in support of product development teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Conduct product testing using tools like LabVIEW, labware, or similar.
- Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and other technical documents.
- Build and design test fixtures for new product testing.
- Analyze test results and report findings in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) processes.
- Support the development and execution of test plans for prototype verification and production validation.
- Apply a good understanding of product design principles in testing.
- Utilize strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Participate in or lead the development of new test methods.
- Execute test plans and protocols to achieve project objectives.

Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in appropriate Engineering field preferred; in lieu of degree minimum three (3) years' experience in appropriate technical discipline
- Experience coding/programming robotics and other equipment used for product testing strongly desired
- Demonstrable technical skills and proficient knowledge in product development from concept through commercialization
- Software experience with MS Office required; Experience with Labware or Labview strongly desired
Supervision/Coordination
Works with appropriate supervision, regularly conferring with supervisor, performing work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character but usually involves supervisory approvals. Coordination within R&D, QA/QC Staff, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. Works effectively within a team environment and across R&D. Provides technical expertise. May supervise direct reports.

Overnight Travel - sporadic - required.
Travel between campus locations in Northeast Ohio as needed
