Electrical Engineer - Vehicle Systems Architecture & PLC

As a Vehicle Systems Architecture Engineer you will contribute to all stages of product development, from early phase system pre-study, electrical architecture system roadmaps and functions development. You will work with stakeholders from various technology teams, function owners, component owners, internal and external strategy or solution providers to identify system design concepts that will best meet our customer’s needs.

You will lead engineering development activities in complex vehicle projects, review design solutions and secure alignment from the relevant stakeholders. An integral part of the job is to write technical reports, cross functional specifications and communicate with stakeholders and developers. You describe the solutions by breaking down pre-requisites and requirements and elaborate how they will affect the electrical system. You will analyze and propose system design concepts, electrical schematics for vehicle functionality related to area of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, developing electrical systems using electrical software tools, and define electrical architecture
• Work with program architects and product management to define key concepts. Provide systems engineering and PLC support for integration of features into new platforms
• Ensure designs are meeting the safety, quality, reliability, development schedule, and cost goals set forth.
• Perform the work needed to develop and anchor system evolution roadmaps for various electrical architecture
• Write Technical reports and cross functional specifications – breaking down pre-requisites and requirements describing how they will affect the electrical system, and propose system design concepts to fulfil them
• Develop embedded software specifications, electrical schematics and block diagrams for vehicle functions related to area of responsibility
• Participate in functional safety and quality tool screening, plans and executes the agreed tasks
• Coordinate activities with other departments, external and internal customers and vendors as necessary to ensure the desired deliverables
  
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in commercial vehicle or automotive product development, or similar experience
• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
• Detailed knowledge about Electronic Hardware/Software & Supporting Infrastructure, Electrical Architecture Design & System Design Development, PLC design & development
• Knowledge of different communication protocols, standards & tools
• Knowledge of tools related to software development, diagnostics & production, and aftermarket systems
• Experienced in working in an environment of global/local organization with cross functional interaction
• Versed in Agile way of working as well as good understanding of project operations
