This role will support engineering design and development activities for Automotive Closures (Doors, Hood, Trunk, Tailgate, Sunroof, etc.) from Concept to Mass Production.
\n- Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 3D Annotation/2D drawing creation.
- Develop and mature assigned components from concept through mass production
- Responsible for quality of components and/or subsystem 3D CAD Data and technical 3D Annotation/2D drawings
- Analyze and resolve complex problems with moderate to minimal guidance.
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
- Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
- Travel to client sites required.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of industry experience developing automotive Closures' components required
- Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
- Experience developing automotive closures' components like Doors, Hood, Trunk, Tailgate, Sunroof, etc.
- 3 years of experience in creating high-quality and updateable 3D CAD Data using CATIA V6.
- Experience in creating 3D Annotation Technical Drawings
- Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) for Stamping components and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS office.
