The person in this role will be responsible for completing the mechanical portion of large capital projects in support of the Plant Capital execution as well as overall preparation and coordination of the Engineering deliverables for the project. They will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the Mechanical engineering field. They will also execute design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment, and manage the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. They will support the plant through resolution of project non-conformities and machine modification requests. They may also be involved in supporting the plant major breakdowns.
\n- Perform feasibility analyses for functional requirements; assess solutions based on cost, timelines, quality, risks, and functionality.
- Carry out integration studies with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability.
- Handle change requests in accordance with the procedures in place.
- Follow the established procedures (risk analyses, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, handling of non-conformities, etc.) and the quality system.
- Obtain validation of milestones during the installation, start-up and ramp-up of the equipment in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Perform project management activities, including risk analysis, cost forecasting, and management of installation contractors
- Travel as required
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Education with the following specialties preferred: Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial.
- 4 years of engineering experience
- Experience with mechanical design standards and able to complete mechanical systems designs in Solidworks (preferred) doing 3D design and drawing creation/modification
- Experience managing correction of equipment non-conformities and acceptance.
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
- Preferred - Robotic experience, configuration or knowledge is preferred, but not required. Specific experience with Fanuc, Yaskawa, ABB is a plus.
- Good communication skill at every level of the organization
