This role will play a pivotal role in the product development and design team. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the development of state-of-the-art manufacturing systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of manufacturing system components and assemblies using industry-standard design software.
- Continuously work to improve existing designs for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure designs align with project goals.
- Assist in the creation of prototypes and participate in testing and validation processes.
- Maintain accurate design documentation and update drawings as needed to reflect design changes.
- Ensure that designs meet quality and safety standards and comply with industry regulations.
- Assist in cost analysis and budgeting for materials and components.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer or similar role.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks and-or AutoCAD/Inventor required).
- Experience with machine design and familiar with machining practices
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and materials.
- Understanding of electrical and electrical components, motor sizing and bearing sizing/fits is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in design work.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems or related industries is a plus.
- Perform other duties as needed.
