About this position:

As an Assistant Manager at Cascade Home Center, you’ll play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the store. You’ll help lead and inspire a team, ensure customers have a smooth and positive shopping experience, and drive store performance. This is a hands-on leadership role, with responsibilities ranging from customer service to inventory management and team development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example by providing exceptional customer service. Assist customers in finding products, answering questions, and offering product recommendations to meet their needs.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and motivate store associates, ensuring they are trained on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills. Foster a positive team environment focused on growth and collaboration.
  • Store Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and managing store supplies. Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Sales & Inventory Management: Help drive sales and profitability by ensuring products are stocked and displayed effectively. Assist with inventory management, ordering products, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Merchandising & Visual Displays: Work with the management team to plan and execute merchandising strategies and seasonal displays. Ensure the store is visually appealing and products are easy for customers to find.
  • Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution: Address customer concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner, ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
  • Store Compliance: Ensure the store complies with health, safety, and company policies and procedures. Maintain a safe working and shopping environment for both staff and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Retail Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience in hardware or home improvement retail is a plus.
  • Customer-Focused: A strong passion for customer service with the ability to lead a team in delivering a great shopping experience.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team while meeting performance goals and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Product Knowledge: General knowledge of hardware, tools, home improvement products, or the willingness to learn.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers, staff, and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move products (up to 50lbs) and stand for extended periods. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors’ degree is preferred
