Description:
The primary function of the Retail Sales Associate is to deliver excellent customer service, uphold our Core Values, and help create the best hardware store experience possible, generate sales, merchandise products and support the store management team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Know and perform the Seven Steps of Customer Service
- Stock and maintain assigned area of store
- Answer phones with a confident attitude, willing to help the customer in whatever way necessary.
- Complete customer transactions, charge, cash and returns accurately.
- Aid customers in locating merchandising in store, and online, as well as processing special orders
- Continue to grow and expand product knowledge.
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
- Execute the daily operational, day to day goals and priorities assigned by store management.
- Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized.
- Maintain communication between other sales clerks and departments.
- Keep updated on new technology and products in the hardware and building industries.
- Be a team player and foster a team atmosphere.

Minimum Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Experience: Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships, and working with customers.
- Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of retail computer systems.
- A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift at least 30 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Able to stand for up 8 hours a day.
- Standing, stretching, squatting, lifting, crouching, kneeling, and other awkward positions.
- Climbing and descending ladders.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions.
