Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Transportation Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team in Gainesville, GA. This role is vital to ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods between suppliers, manufacturing plants, 3PL storage facilities, and customers. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining transportation visibility, supporting purchasing operations, and optimizing inbound and outbound logistics flows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation Management:
- Coordinate the daily movement of materials and products across multiple locations including suppliers, internal plants, 3PL warehouses, and customer destinations.
- Track shipments in real-time and provide status updates across supply chain and operations teams.
- Interact daily with suppliers, carriers, and drivers to monitor inventory in transit and resolve delays or exceptions proactively.
- Systems & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to company and regulatory requirements.
- Enter, update, and maintain shipment transactions within the company’s ERP system.
- Ensure all transportation and purchasing records are filed in compliance with document retention guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Support:
- Serve as a backup for Dispatch operations and assist the Purchasing Team with transportation-related tasks.
- Support coordination of unload schedules and delivery planning in collaboration with Operations and Warehouse teams.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Assist with identifying transportation cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Contribute to the development of standardized workflows for logistics planning and issue resolution.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination role.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work across internal teams and with external partners.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using ERP systems for logistics or purchasing transactions (preferred but not required).
