Maintenance Tech Assistant
Monday-Friday
8 am to 12 pm
Position Summary:
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our gym facilities are clean, safe, and well-
maintained for our members and staff. This position involves assisting with routine maintenance
tasks, minor repairs, and janitorial cleaning duties to provide a welcoming and hygienic
environment for all gym-goer,

Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Assistance:
- Assist in the upkeep and repair of gym equipment, including cardio machines, weights, and
other fitness items as needed.
- Perform routine inspections of facilities, including locker rooms, showers, and common
areas, identifying any maintenance needs.
- Help with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks under the guidance of the maintenance
supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of maintenance supplies and gym equipment, reporting
any shortages or needs.
2. Janitorial Cleaning:
- Conduct daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing gym
floors, locker rooms, restrooms, and other areas.
- Disinfect high-touch areas and surfaces, such as gym equipment, doorknobs, and handrails,
to promote a safe and healthy environment for members.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclable materials in a timely and efficient manner,
ensuring cleanliness throughout the facility.
3. Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for
members and staff.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with local health and safety standards pertaining to gym
operations.
4. Miscellaneous Duties:
- Support the setup and breakdown of fitness classes, events, and special activities as
needed.
- Assist with moving equipment and furniture within the gym facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or gym manager.
Required Education, Certifications and Experience
Experience in a health club is preferred
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
