CREW-CLIMBER/RIGGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
The CREW-CLIMBER/ RIGGER position is available for an individual with a strong work ethic who is able to work independently, enjoys learning new skills, and likes working outdoors. The tree climber will at all times adhere to Cutting Edge safety guidelines, performing work according to all policies and procedures. The Crew Climber/ Rigger is a skilled position responsible for tree maintenance, pruning and removals on residential and commercial properties using rope, harness, saddle, and/or company bucket truck in accordance with company policy. Must be able to demonstrate basic skills during interview process.
THIS IS PHYSICAL LABOR: You will need to meet the following requirements: -
Legally authorized to work in the US
have valid Oregon driver’s license and available transportation to and from work
have climbing experience
be able to lift 50-100 pounds
have the ability to perform strenuous labor in all weather conditions
able to work Monday thru Friday with some weekend and overtime during busy season
Daily tasks, skills, and responsibilities include:
1. Reports and is accountable to crew leaders supervision and directions while on job site, equipment yard and during transit/travel.
2. Reports to crew leader for guidance on administrative issues and is accountable to administrative manager/owner, Mrs. Brown, for all administrative issue decisions
3. Ability to tie tree industry knots and rigging.
4. Primary duties include climbing, rigging at heights for tree trimming and removal, including placement and use of high bucket vehicle in discussion with crew leader, and must be knowledgeable of those required skills for trimming/removal in a safe manner for crew, equipment and customer job site.
5. Learns, understands and adheres to all safety rules established by goldanBROWN Tree Service LLC., including wearing of all required safety gear and participates in all safety training offered, asks questions, and improves safety skills.
6. When not working at heights, work with ground crew at the direction of the crew leader.

Attention to detail is critical to maintain high quality of care
Knowledge and execution of proper pruning standards
Performs all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader or designated supervisor
Participates in all job site safety briefings
Utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment
Understands and demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of the ground person position
Develops a basic understanding of tree growth
Demonstrates sound tree risk assessment skills
Demonstrates equipment inspection skills
Demonstrates proper application of approved knots
Demonstrates and practices proper climbing techniques and rigging procedures
Demonstrates and practices proper pruning and small removal skills
Demonstrates and practices proper rigging techniques
Assists with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
Learns and understands the dangers associated with electrical hazards
Maintains assigned company gear according to the issued equipment policy
Company provides all PPE and rolling stock (vehicles)
