What are the responsibilities and job description for the NYS Registered Dental/ Orthodontic Assistant position at Goldberg Orthodontics?
We are a successful, family oriented orthodontic practice in western Nassau County searching for a customer service oriented experienced orthodontic assistant. We are looking for a multitasker who understands the importance of delivering quality care in a warm and friendly enviroment. Only experienced orthodontic assistants will be considered. Applicant must either have a NYS registered dental license or be willing to enroll in an online program to complete the licensure requirements.
1.Prepare operatory prior to examination/treatment by implementing disinfection standards, barrier control guidelines, and setting up instruments consistent with procedure to be performed.
2.Assist at chair-side during examination and treatment of patients.
3.Perform dental laboratory procedures including, model printing and Essix retainer fabrication.
4.Take X-rays in accordance with the requirements of section 3515(4)(c) of the Public Health Law.
5.Clean, bag, wrap and sterilize instruments.
6.Assist in stocking, and dispensing inventory items, and maintaining the inventory control system.
7.Maintain equipment, supplies, and overall clinical facility.
8.May be responsible for greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling the patient's next appointment before they leave the clinic.
9. Select and pre-fit orthodontic bands as directed.
10. Take intra-oral scans for space maintainers, orthodontic appliances, or diagnostic casts.
11. Place orthodontic ligatures and remove orthodontic arch wires and ligature ties.
Hours are:
Monday- Wednesday 8:45-6:15, Thursday 10-7:15 , and 1 Saturday a month 8-1:30.
No fridays and saturdays in the summer!
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $26.00 - $37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
