IMPORTANT QUALITIES:
Communication Skills: :The paralegal must be able to document and present their legal research and any related information to their supervising attorney(s) in a timely manner.
Computer Skills:: The paralegal need to be familiar with using computers for legal research and litigation support as well as support in any other facets of law. In addition, the paralegal needs to be familiar with computer software that may help them organize and maintain legal documents.
Interpersonal Skills: The paralegal will spend most of their time working closely with clients and other professionals and must be able to develop good relationships. As such, they must make clients comfortable sharing personal information regarding their cases.
Organizational Skills: The paralegals will be responsible for many cases at times. They must adapt to a fast paced environment with constant changing of deadlines. In addition, in order to be efficient the paralegal must contain excellent organizational skills.
Research Skills: The paralegal will need to have good research and investigative skills to conduct legal research.
TARGET HOURS BILLING REQUIREMENT: :
- 100 hours per month
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: :
- Knowledge of e-filing for discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Outlook, TEAMS, Calendar, and Excel.
- Familiarity with legal documents and terminology.
- Investigative skills for case facts.
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and articles.
- Organize and maintain documents in physical files and the firm's document management software.
- Gather, maintain, and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
- Write reports to assist attorneys in trial preparation, as directed by attorney.
- Assist lawyers during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts
- Process authorizations.
- Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements for court use.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates; maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- File exhibits, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel after attorney review and approval.
- Schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions with clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors as per client guidelines.
- Collaborate with both attorneys and legal assistants on non-billable tasks, supporting case management as needed.
- Daily management of billable time keeping entries in firms’ software program.
- Documentation of approvals as it relates to firm and client guidelines.
- Review challenges and write offs when presented by attorneys; collaborate with Client Revenue on providing necessary information regarding client appeals.
- Key point of contact for clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelors degree, Associate's degree preferred, certificate in paralegal studies, or 5 years of paralegal experience.
- Clear communication and information exchange in English.
- Certified Notary a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to observe and assess data and documents in printed form and on computer screens.
- Willingness to work beyond normal hours.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision.
- Ability to respond and maintain confidentiality of information or adversarial inquiries.

This role offers an hourly salary and bonus opportunity. The hourly salary range for this position is $23.00 to $32.00. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law. This position also offers a full benefits package.
