The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Three or more years of Plaintiff Personal Injury Law experience.
- Ability to guide clients through the case process with frequent communication, empathy, and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify problems and concerns independently, communicate them to appropriate individuals and resolve them.
- Work together as a team with attorneys and other legal professionals while having a positive and professional approach to all situations and requests.
- Knowledge of pre-litigation case process and ability to work independently.
- Main point of contact for adjusters, medical providers, and subrogation analysts on each file.
- Investigate facts to obtain relevant issues necessary to determine causation, damages, and extent of injuries.
- Prepare and properly submit FOIA/Sunshine requests.
- Research and verify all available insurance coverages and communicate with the insurance adjusters.
- Familiarity with all types of insurance policies, coverage limits, provisions, and exclusions.
- Medical review and preparation of medical chronologies, medical expense itemizations and demand packages.
- Identify and negotiate medical and health insurance liens.
- Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid subrogation, private insurance subrogation, and ability to understand compliance with subrogation regulations, when appropriate.
- Organize and maintain electronic file per firm system guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required.
- Experience with Needles and/or Litify preferred.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associates Degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience.
