GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
The Technical Software Engineer Lead assumes a pivotal role, guiding the team's technical journey in the design, development, and integration of the credit union's core financial systems. While the managerial focus lies in team leadership and process orchestration, the Technical Lead delves deep into technical architecture, strategic direction, and hands-on guidance for both legacy and emerging technologies. This role demands not only robust technical acumen but also an intrinsic ability to collaborate with diverse IT stakeholders, ensuring that technology solutions align seamlessly with business objectives.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS :
- Technical Direction : Lead the team's technical strategy, ensuring alignment with current and future business goals.
- Work Assignments : Evaluate team members' skill sets and expertise to assign work effectively, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Work Sizing : Assess and estimate the scope of new projects, making certain they align with time and resource constraints.
- Stakeholder Collaboration : Serve as the primary technical liaison with banking architects and other high-caliber IT roles, fostering collaboration and technological synergy.
- Onboarding : Architect a robust onboarding process for new developers, introducing them to the department's systems, best practices, and processes.
- Technical Escalation : Act as the first point of technical escalation within the department, ensuring timely resolution of complex challenges.
- Quality Assurance & Best Practices : Ensure that all solutions uphold the highest standards of quality, performance, and security.
- Continual Learning : Stay abreast of technological advances in the banking and financial sector, ensuring the team's skillsets and tools remain cutting-edge.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union's risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.
