Position Title: eLearning Student Assistant
Department Name: eLearning
Position Reports to: Senior Instructional Designer, eLearning
FLSA STATUS: Hourly, non-exempt
Hourly rate: $18.67
Benefits: Limited University's benefits
Days & Hours: Part-time – 20 hours per week. Variable weekly schedule to be established by supervisor. Flexible schedule may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods.
BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:
As a member of the eLearning team, you will support 4 instructional designers by performing quality control checks and other tasks related to course preparation. You will also assist the instructional design team in updating faculty training content and ensuring proper set up. You may also be asked to assist other members of the eLearning team on an as-needed basis to set up assessments on the eLearning platform.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in quality assurance checks of online course content.
- Assist the instructional designers in inputting HTML content into web-based courses.
- Perform audit of existing faculty training content and ensure that the content is up to date and set up properly.
- Assist in setting up course assessments on the eLearning platform.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Some college and customer service experience preferred.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Highly communicative: Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when something is unclear.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Able to troubleshoot problems and find solutions in a pleasant, timely and professional manner.
- Strong command of English language, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of standard Windows operating system software, Office 360 (Word, Excel, etc.), and Slack.
- Experience with online learning classes at Golden Gate University.
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop/Acrobat, and other web-related programs is a plus.
- Candidates with basic HTML coding skills are preferred.
