We are looking for a seasoned professional Assistant Director of Cultivation to join our amazing team.
Job Overview
The Assistant Director of Cultivation manages a variety of significant tasks, therefore must be a good communicator, provide clear and concise instruction, delegate when necessary, and implement company policy. The Assistant Director of Cultivation will be responsible for helping to ensure that all day-to-day operations of Michigan's indoor cultivation are completed in accordance to company policy. The Assistant Director of Cultivation will also be responsible for helping to ensure that all physical and mechanical aspects of MIchigan indoor cultivation are always operating within company policy.
Duties and responsibilities
- Works in conjunction with the corresponding Managers of Flower, Fertigation, Veg, and IPM, in helping of the planning and implementing of the day to day and overall operations of Michigan’s indoor cultivation facility.
- Ensures that all Flower, Fertigation, Veg, and IPM tasks are completed in accordance with the cultivation schedule.
- Help build SOPs for cultivation procedures and strategies.
- Conducts regular walks of the facility to ensure company standards and cleanliness.
- Works in conjunction with the Technical Resource Manager and the Director of Cultivation to make sure that Flower, Fertigation, Veg, and IPM have the necessary resources.
- Will assist in the understanding and running of all the physical and mechanical operations for the Michigan indoor grow facility.
- Will work in conjunction with the Director of Cultivation, Maintenance Manager, and outside contractors to assist in the trouble shooting and repairing of all facility equipment and controls.
- From time to time will require to be on call for facility operational emergencies and act as the liaison for dealing with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing contractors.
- In conjunction with the Director of Cultivation, helping to provide coaching and leadership of the Flower, Fertigation, Veg, and IPM departments.
- Executing and implementing all Standard Operating Procedures.
- Works in conjunction with the Director of Cultivation for overall oversight and responsibility for Flower, Fertigation, Veg, and IPM in the Oregon indoor grow facility.
- All other job duties as assigned.
Competencies
- **Highly desired** A bachelor’s degree with emphasis in agricultural studies or a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in the Cannabis industry, including working with chemicals and fertilizer applications: or **An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted that provides the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Cannabis, greenhouse, floral or vegetable crop experience required.
- Have a trained cultivator’s eye and when procedures aren’t being executed properly, make necessary corrections.
- Ability to calculate fertilizer recipes down to the PPM
- Experienced in Crop Steering and agricultural grow controls (i.e. Growlink, Argus, Trolmaster)
- Awareness and understanding of harvest schedule and proficiency at all tasks in relations to cultivation.
- Prepares and uses computer spreadsheets, word processing systems and electronic communications (MSOffice based).
- Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through skills.
- Strong communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- Willingness to teach/train production associates.
- Ability to problem-solve and take initiative.
- Ability to collaborate with the production teams effectively.
- Skilled in general computer operating systems and applications.
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and signage/labeling accuracy.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
