Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with medical procedures and treatments, following aseptic technique
- Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment
Experience:
- Experience administering injections and medications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Epic)
- Experience in providing care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Ability to work in acute care settings, such as hospitals or clinics
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for sterile procedures
- Experience in senior care or hospice settings is a plus
