Job Description: As the Bartender at Golden Isles Olive Oil and Wine Bar, you will assume a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our beverage service. You will be responsible for crafting and serving a wide variety of exceptional cocktails, wines, and specialty drinks. In addition to bartending duties, you will lead by example, training and mentoring other bartenders, maintaining inventory control, and collaborating with management on menu development. Your passion for mixology, deep knowledge of wines, and exceptional customer service skills will contribute to the bar's success and overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Create and serve a diverse range of high-quality cocktails, wines, and other specialty beverages, ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation standards are met.
- Develop innovative and unique cocktail recipes that showcase our selection of olive oils, vinegars, and gourmet ingredients, continuously expanding the menu offerings.
- Guide guests in selecting wines based on their preferences, pairing recommendations, and provide in-depth knowledge about wine varietals, regions, and production methods.
- Lead by example, training and mentoring bartenders on mixology techniques, wine knowledge, and exceptional customer service.
- Maintain a well-organized bar area, ensuring an adequate inventory of spirits, wines, mixers, garnishes, and glassware, while implementing proper rotation and storage techniques.
- Monitor and control inventory levels, placing orders as needed to ensure adequate supplies, and collaborating with management on inventory management strategies.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and management team to create and update cocktail and wine pairing menus, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and industry trends.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and proper sanitization of equipment, glassware, and utensils.
- Operate cash registers, handle transactions accurately, and maintain proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new mixology techniques, wine ratings, and emerging beverage developments, continuously enhancing your expertise and sharing knowledge with the team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender, or similar role in an upscale bar, restaurant, or wine-focused establishment is required.
- Extensive knowledge and passion for mixology, cocktail creation, and a deep understanding of flavor profiles, ingredient pairings, and innovative techniques.
- Expertise in wines, including varietals, regions, and wine-making processes, with the ability to make informed recommendations to guests.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to train, mentor, and inspire a team of bartenders.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests and fostering positive team dynamics.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a smooth service flow.
- Exceptional attention to detail, maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and inventory control behind the bar.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Must be of legal drinking age and possess any required certifications for serving alcohol in your jurisdiction.
