Trial Paralegal – Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Trial Paralegal to join our team. A Trial Paralegal assists Attorneys in preparing and organizing various legal documents for upcoming cases and trials. Their main duties include preparing affidavits and correspondence, discussing case details with Attorneys, and clients and organizing different files for different legal proceedings. Trial Paralegals also attend and assist Attorney during Court Trials. We see ourselves as family here at Golden Law Office and we are looking for the next valued team member to join us.
Responsibilities:
Summarizing cases and preparing reports for attorneys
Conducting research, investigating facts and developing legal arguments
Drafting legal documents such as contracts, depositions and pleadings
Preparing and electronically filing documents with State and Federal Courts
Organizing and archiving the documents related to completed and ongoing cases
Keeping track of changes in legal framework and providing timely updates on these changes
Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, work with clients.
Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
Gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
Availability for extended hours during trial preparation.
Available to travel and appear for Court Trials.
Skills:
Proven working experience as a Trial Paralegal.
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, procedures, practices, etc.
Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail.
Extensive computer and legal database software experience.
Investigative mind and strong research skills.
Positive Attitude.
Microsoft Office.
Experience with Dictation.
Interact and assist with client meetings and communication.
Candidates must be self-sufficient and be able to work in a team-oriented, fast paced environment.
Experience and knowledge with trial software and equipment.
