Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that all purchasing activities align with the company’s goals and objectives. This role requires strong negotiation skills and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management, as well as experience with procurement management systems such as Oracle EBS. The Procurement Specialist will play a critical role in optimizing supplier relationships and driving cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and supplier management.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production planning and category management initiatives.
- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
- Perform root cause analysis for procurement issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery of goods.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement management or a related field.
- Strong contract negotiation skills with a track record of successful negotiations.
- Familiarity with Oracle EBS or similar procurement management software is preferred.
- Experience in production planning and category management is a plus.
- Knowledge of supplier management practices and MRP systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
