Job Summary / Purpose
Golden Pass LNG is seeking a Production Engineer to join our Facilities and Process Engineering team. This role reports to the Facilities and Process Engineering Supervisor and will support the Golden Pass Export / Import Terminal and Plant Facilities. Work location is Beaumont / Sabine Pass based on work demands and activities. The Production Engineer is responsible for closely working with the Operations, Maintenance, Commercial LNG, Gas Supply, Value Chain Management, and Engineering departments to support the safe and sustainable realization of facility production targets and other critical KPIs. This would include but not be limited to supporting the maintenance of facility production capacity curves, tactical monitoring tools specific to all sections of the LNG facility, supporting the maintenance of a facility loss accounting tool, assisting with Supply Chain Management, supporting the management of departmental KPIs, Production reporting, and supporting the coordination of supply of catalysts and chemicals needed to operate the facility.

Essential Duties / Functions
- Forecasting / Production Planning and Monitoring
- Gather and manage the required assumptions on LNG Train performance and provide timely input to the daily production and feed gas forecasting process and Annual Delivery Plan process.
- Develop and utilize forecasting and scheduling tools and act as a secondary point of contact with Commercial LNG, Gas Supply, Value Chain Management, and Operations to ensure daily, monthly, and annual production targets are set.
- Set Facility LNG Train Production daily targets, define operating limits and engage with Operations, Maintenance, Commercial LNG, Gas Supply, Value Chain Management, and Engineering to develop the production plan for the day.
- Participate in strategy planning with the Operations team, propose corrective measures to overcome the limitations and deficiencies to ensure targets are met.
- Build and maintain real time, online, surveillance and monitoring models to optimize the Availability and Performance of the Facility LNG Liquefaction Train.
- Identify Production risks that could impact Availability and Reliability and develop mitigation plans to address them.
- Operations Support
- Interface with the commercial team on the arrival of LNG Carriers.
- Support the LNG loading volume and energy validation process, during the LNG loading activities in coordination with the independent Surveyor and review the preliminary and final Surveyor’s Report after loading operations are completed.
- Coordinate feed gas volume nominations with the Commercial Operations Gas Scheduler and communicate with Operations there be any changes in gas demand.
- Energy / Mass Balance
- Assist the Measurement team with performing Daily Facility energy / mass balance.
- Assist the Measurement team with maintaining and optimizing the Facility energy / mass balance tool.
- Reporting
- Develop and maintain Production status dashboards as needed by management, depicting all critical information and data for end users. This includes explaining and publishing performance KPI’s to Asset Team leadership.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams in the governance and implementation of the production reporting and loss accounting systems.
- Support the preparation of Production performance summaries for the facility, summarizing data on total production, capacity utilization, operating reliability, unit efficiency, production loss categories and quantities, and energy utilization.
- Benchmarking
- Support procedure development and data validation for benchmarking performance against other LNG operators.
- Develop systems for rolling production data and loss accounting data into annualized results compatible with an international standard for benchmarking data.
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor’s Degree in Process/Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study.
- Expect 4-7 years of experience working as a Production Engineer in Oil & Gas, ideally with LNG experience.
- Strong understanding of the cryogenic natural gas processing, with preference in LNG, however NGL or other hydrocarbon processing experience may be acceptable.
- Ability to conduct work in an efficient and timely manner.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to work well with diverse and multidisciplinary teams.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
