Job Summary / Purpose
The primary responsibility of the Senior Corporate and Financial Reporting Accountant is to partner with the Technical Accounting Manager in leading the company's financial accounting and reporting responsibilities including US GAAP compliant financial statements, financial close, and other accounting activities. The Senior Corporate and Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for a variety of aspects of the financial accounting and reporting process. The Senior Corporate and Financial Reporting Accountant will collaborate with various stakeholders across various departments.
Essential Duties / Functions
- Actively engages in month end and year end close activities including preparing, compiling and analyzing financial data, statements, and reports to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Supports the interim and year end audit processes with the external audit firm. Assists in coordinating PBC and other audit requests. Works closely with external auditors on controls questions, issues, and deficiencies.
- Demonstrate understanding of accounting process and controls through work related to AFE's, contracts, purchase orders, work orders, and work requests.
- Work closely with the various teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Participate in the analysis of operational expenses, accruals, and stewardship reports from a financial perspective.
- Prepare monthly close tasks, journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules as needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to leases, equity transactions and certain treasury activities.
- Fully supports the company's goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities.
- Special projects as needed.
