Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

As an Entry-Level Equipment Operator, you report to the Mine Operations Supervisor. This is a safety sensitive position.
What You Do
- Operate a 100-ton off road haul truck with dump body.
- Perform a walk-around inspection at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure the truck is in a safe and proper running condition.
- Safely and effectively haul and dump material in designated areas, such as waste dumps, stockpiles and into the crusher hopper to ensure budgeted tonnage production rates.
- Observing and inspecting equipment, material, gauges, and indicators and adjusting as indicated.
- Maintain maximum tire life by avoiding rocks and debris that can damage tires.
- Effectively operate onboard Dispatch system.
- Call on the radio to warn of hazards in the pit that can affect other operators.
- Remove garbage and keep the cab of the trucks clean.
- Ensure the truck receives fuel as required and at the end of each shift.
- Actively engage with employees in discussions and initiatives that keep everyone safe.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Follow all procedures and safety measures to assure safe production.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions/environments: rain, wind, heat, humidity, muddy, dusty, and uneven, rocky terrain.
- Able to ascend and descend steep ladders to access the cab of the haul truck.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Follow all safety, environmental and company requirements and policies.
- Work as a team member and communicate openly with others.
- Self-motivated and able to complete tasks as directed by the Mine Shift Supervisor.
- Willing to stop work for safety concerns and always abide by safety best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work rotating (days and nights) 12-hour shifts.
- Driver’s license required
