Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are
You enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You communicate well and work effectively to meet department and company goals. You have at least three years’ experience in automotive repairs. You can troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment including light trucks, UTV/ATV, skid steer, and other types of equipment on site. You pay attention to detail and keep maintenance logs for repairs and parts usage.
As a Light Vehicle Mechanic, you would report to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor. This is a safety sensitive position.
What You Do
- Diagnose, repair and/or replace of parts on vehicles and equipment as directed encompassing: Gasoline and diesel engines; Transmissions; Axles; Rear ends; Suspension systems; Hydraulic systems; Electrical systems; and Brake systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services.
- Comply with safety rules, regulations and requirements as outlined by the company, OSHA and MSHA.
- Update and maintain service/repair records.
- Determine the nature/extent of repairs necessary to make vehicle/equipment safe and operable.
- Advises users of possible causes of operating problems.
- Responds to vehicle breakdowns in the field.
- Maintains tools and equipment.
- Ensure all work areas are clean and orderly.
- Prioritize and plan work procedures.
- Act on all work orders promptly.
- Perform other duties assigned.
What You Bring
- 3 years’ experience in automotive repairs.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of safe and efficient vehicle maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, methods and practices used to inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Able to safely use tools and equipment with skill and efficiency.
- Able to perform heavy work for an extended period.
- Able to understand and carry out directions.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
- Able to prioritize and succinctly convey priorities to others.
- Able to work cooperatively and courteously with other departments.
- Able to cope with job stress while exhibiting patience and tact when dealing with others.
- Produce accurate work and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
