Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are
You are a dependable team member who can work independently and can assist the company in achieving goals. You are a self-starter with high work standards who can take and follow direction. You have no issues with working rotating shifts and working in inclement weather. You may have experience with lubrication and/or maintenance of heavy equipment. Most importantly, you are a go-getter who is eager to learn new skills and grow with the company.
As the Mechanic I (Lube Tech), you would service and fuel mobile and stationary mining equipment on site. You would report to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor. This is a safety sensitive position.
What You Do
- The Mechanic Level 1 (Lube Tech) will be responsible for the daily fueling and lubrication services on all mobile mining equipment;
- Perform pre-shift check on the Company’s lube trucks;
- Perform the daily lubrication checks as per a detailed set of check sheets and this will include checking and changing, if necessary, all engine and cab air filter elements;
- Check for and note any leaks or discrepancies in any of the hydraulic systems or power train components on the mobile equipment;
- Do minor maintenance on equipment as needed;
- Perform maintenance labor tasks such as shop cleaning and equipment washing.
- Adhere to all safety and standard operating procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Self-starter with high work standards that can take and follow direction as needed.
- Commitment to working safely and promoting a safe work environment.
- Basic understanding of lubrication/maintenance of mobile construction and mining equipment (preferred, but not required).
- Willing and able to do shift work as needed.
- Able to climb and lift 50lbs, work in awkward positions requiring prolonged bending, kneeling, and standing.
- Able to operate the Company’s 26,000-pound lube truck.
- Good understanding of lubrication (i.e. greases and oils), their properties, and proper applications.
- Driver license required.
