Job Summary:
The General Maintenance Technician performs a variety of routine and preventative maintenance, repair, and installation tasks to support the upkeep of apartments, common areas, and Foundation buildings at Leisure World Seal Beach. This role includes responsibilities such as appliance delivery and installation, concrete and screen repair, light painting, and support of other maintenance operations. The position requires a broad range of trade skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, shareholders, and management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Drivers' License
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems; certifications a plus
- Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, heavy objects and work in various environments that require physical labor.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry work, and repairs
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify issues
- Perform minor electrical repairs and maintain lighting systems
- Repair plumbing fixtures and systems
- Handle HVAC maintenance and repairs
- Keep detailed maintenance logs and report on any issues
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment
- Assist with other maintenance projects as needed which may include painting, light carpentry, or drywall repairs.
