Summary/Objective
The Site Supervisor is responsible for performing regular security officer duties to the highest standard in conjunction with supervising a team of security officers under the direction of GSE Operations Management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: deter, observe, report, document, lead, train, manage a team of security officers and communicate with corporate management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to patrol by foot, walk, observe, talk, type and write reports, hear and respond to emergencies. This is largely a physically active role; however, some sedentary work is expected.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, salary paid position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, first shift. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Very little, if any, travel is expected for this position.

- Act as 1st in charge as the on-site GSE representative for all security and safety issues
- Serves as the primary liaison between GSE and the security site; communicates any notable interactions, special requests, concerns, and/or messages from the client to GSE
- Establish positive and consistent communications and maintain a professional rapport with the Company’s Clients.
- Executes duties and responsibilities with the highest quality and precision according to Standard Operating Guidelines, the GSE Officer Standards of Conduct, and the DCJS Code of Ethics; leads by example
- Creates and maintains the site duty schedule; ensures overtime is kept to a minimum for all officers
- Submits payroll to GSE management every two weeks for processing
- Provides site-specific training to new Security Officers; leads and develops existing Security Officers
- Delegates responsibilities to other officers, as appropriate, especially during any leave of absence
- Conducts verbal and written counseling to officers under the guidance of GSE management; holds officers accountable to the GSE Officer Standards of Conduct by reporting performance issues to GSE management
- Provides real-time updates to GSE management concerning matters of importance or urgency, such as incidents, emergencies, or procedural changes that occur on site
- Recommends officers for awards
- Updates post orders and assists in maintaining the Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG) under the direction of GSE management
- Notifies management of any site-specific needs, such as supplies, officer uniforms, and/or duty equipment
- Reports any discrepancies, issues, concerns, or areas in need of attention regarding security operations or personnel to GSE management
- Ensures log books are properly maintained
- Ensures the Lost and Found is properly maintained and accounted for
- Available to temporarily work irregular and/or long shifts with minimal notice as needed
- Available by phone/email at all times while on duty. While off duty, be responsive to the corporate office

Required Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. and prior experience as a Security Officer or police officer
- Pursuit of a college education, such as an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
- At least one years’ experience in private security, military, or law enforcement
- Prefer experience in a lead, supervisor, or management role
- Able to obtain and keep an active Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services registration in applicable categories, to include passing a background check
- Able to pass a drug test
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States
