We are looking for a full-time Accounting Assistant.
- This position is located onsite and is not a remote or hybrid position.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
- Assist the Controller in month-end close and analysis
- Enter/create journal entries
- Perform monthly account reconciliation on general ledger
- Manage daily banking operations
- Assist with audit requests
- Special projects as requested
- Identify opportunities to better utilize technology
- Any other administrative tasks that may be needed by the business
Experience:
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, filters, data sorting).
- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, and keyboard shortcuts.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (Balance Sheet vs. Income Statement accounts).
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Experience with GP (Great Plains) and Concur is a plus.
- Previous experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to research financial discrepancies
- Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Good business acumen and judgement
- High level of integrity, initiative and commitment to excellence
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong written and oral communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a proponent for change
- Time management ensuring deadlines are met
