Job Summary:
The Social Media Intern is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and drive traffic to the company's online platforms. This role involves creating and curating content, monitoring social media channels, and analyzing performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
- Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content for social media platforms.
- Develop engaging and creative content for social media posts, including text, images, and videos.
- Create and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent posting across all social media channels.
Social Media Management:
- Monitor and manage the company's social media accounts.
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Engage with followers and build a community around the brand.
Campaign Support:
- Assist in the planning and execution of social media campaigns and promotions.
- Track and analyze the performance of social media campaigns using analytics tools.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving campaign effectiveness.
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in social media.
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to stay up-to-date with best practices.
- Prepare reports on social media performance and provide actionable insights.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing team to align social media strategies with overall marketing goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather content and ensure brand consistency.
- Assist in organizing and promoting events through social media channels.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas.
- Proficiency in graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Position Requirements:
- 15-20 hours per week during the academic year, with the option to increase hours during the summer.
- Internship duration 6-9 months, flexible based on availability.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
