What are the responsibilities and job description for the Platform Engineer position at Golden Technology?
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to assist with a migration effort within a dynamic, fast-paced enterprise environment. This role involves migrating from an EC2-based deployment to Kubernetes and integrating with API security appliances. The project requires expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and API gateway solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate workloads from EC2-based deployments to Kubernetes (EKS).
- Deploy and configure Kong API Gateway, integrating it with Wallarm security appliance.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and Ansible.
- Evaluate database-backed vs. declarative configurations for Kong API Gateway.
- Implement AWS networking configurations, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and load balancers.
- Work with automation tools to streamline deployments and infrastructure setup.
- Document technical designs, migration plans, and best practices.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong expertise in AWS Cloud and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway.
- Experience integrating API security appliances like Wallarm.
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure management.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automation.
- Strong background in Ansible for configuration management.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AWS API Gateway, Apigee, or NGINX.
- Exposure to service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
- Understanding of serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions).
