Golden Valley Electric Association: What drives us
GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Your day to day as a Right-of-Way Agent
As a Right-of-Way Agent at Golden Valley Electric Association in Fairbanks, you will play a crucial role in negotiating and acquiring essential real property rights for the Association. Your responsibilities will include the negotiation of property rights with landowners and public officials to secure the purchase or lease of land and right-of-way required for utility lines, substations, and power plants. You will utilize multiple processes to acquire easements, agreements, fee ownership, and leases, ensuring the seamless construction, maintenance, access, and expansion of GVEA's transmission, distribution, and fiber facilities. Additionally, you will draft and finalize essential easements and property agreements, while developing plats for recordation to protect the Association's interests and mitigate any potential complaints. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Valid Alaska Drivers license is required.
