What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) position at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare?
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) is responsible for the validation, inspection, calibration, repair and maintenance of medical/clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety while training others in the proper operation per regulatory standards. Due to the nature of the work, performs in a highly independent manner, working within the broad scope of established department policies, procedures and goals (e.g., Medical Equipment Management Plan SAF-002 - MEMP). Works closely with clinical staff and Materials Management personnel to obtain parts, supplies and equipment. Demonstrates meticulous documentation, analytic and problem-solving skills. Reports to the Biomedical Engineering Manager.
Required:
Three months to one year of experience
Associate's degree in biomedical engineering or electronics preferred
