What are the responsibilities and job description for the ER Tech/E.M.T. position at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare?
We are seeking a caring and dependable person to join our team. The ER Tech/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will be responsible for patient care duties delegated to them by the RN, LPN, or paramedic. The ER Tech/EMT must have great communication skills and work well in a fast-paced environment, be able to work independently, and be aware of patient information or changes in status that need to be reported to the licensed personnel and paraprofessionals.
Specifications:
LPN, EMT, CNA, or CMA certification and in good standing
Current BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) certification upon hire
Previous hospital experience desired
ER experience preferred
Must be dependable, reliable, and compassionate with a desire to care for others.
Principle Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care according to his/her scope of care and according to GVMH policies and procedures.
Tasks included but not limited to: taking vital signs, weighing patients, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, transferring patients, documenting of any patient care provided, and assisting licensed personnel and paraprofessionals with various tasks.
Proactively provide follow-up on all delegated patient care tasks to licensed personnel and paraprofessionals; ensure timely completion of all assigned/delegated tasks, and communicate frequently to all members of the healthcare delivery team.
Demonstrate effective interpersonal and therapeutic communication techniques.
Document patient care according to GVMH policies and procedures and in a manner that accurately represents the care provided for the patient.
Complies with all safety and infection control policies.
Demonstrates ethical decision making, advocates for patients and families, and adheres to GVMH's Behaviors of Excellence.
