Job Description:
The Patient Support Assistant assists patients with basic needs under the direction of licensed personnel. Act as a point of contact for patients through direct communication to understand their needs. Relay patient request and concerns timely to the care team. Responds to calls for assistance from patients and staff quickly and positively within scope of training. Maintain positive interactions with other members of the healthcare team. Maintains a clean, safe environment by carrying out unit cleaning assignments as requested. Verbally and nonverbally communicates with dignity and respect to all healthcare team members, patients, and guests. Completes documentation accurately, thoroughly, and legibly. Ability to recognize and report pertinent data to licensed staff or team leader. Notifies team leaders of any recognized changes in patient’s condition.
