What are the responsibilities and job description for the Monitor Technician position at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital?
Job Description :
The monitor technician will be responsible for identifying and responding to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, record rhythms during code, continuous cardiac monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias and interval measurements. Appropriately responds to all monitor alarms. Knowledge of telemetry services. Able to work independently and be attentive to detail.
Responsibilities :
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart in relation to waves, complexes, time and voltage, Communicate appropriately to charge nurse, coworkers and physicians, Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, Interact professionally with patient / family and provide explanations and verbal reassurance as necessary, Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations, Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments, Ensure that documentation meets current standards and policies, Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly.
Education / Credentials :
High school diploma or equivalent
Telemetry certification at hire or obtain within 30 days of hire
BLS within 30 days of hire
Starting Range : $16.59-20.73
