Job Description :
The Senior Biomedical Engineering Technician is responsible for the direction and oversight of the biomedical engineering functions and team while participating in the validation, inspection, calibrations, repairs and maintenance of medical / clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety while training others in the proper operation per regulatory standards. Due to the nature of the work, this individual performs in a highly independent manner, working within the broad scope of established department policies, procedures and goals. Duties will include, but are not limited to : ensuring medical equipment is well maintained, properly configured, and safely functional. Approves new biomedical equipment by conducting tests and ensuring adherence to codes. Installs new biomedical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance. Maintains biomedical equipment by completing preventative maintenance schedules. Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs, and calibrates biomedical equipment and support systems. Works closely with clinical staff and materials management personnel to obtain parts, supplies and equipment; also coordinates with the engineering department equipment installations which require certain facility infrastructure support and / or modifications. Oversee the training of others in the proper operation and care of medical / clinical equipment. Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database for repairs, calibrations, preventative maintenance, etc. Reports to the Environment of Care / Life Safety Committee monthly. Adheres to the GVMH Behaviors of Excellence.
Education / Credentials :
Associate’s degree
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience :
Three or more years' experience desired
One year of supervisory experience required
Starting Range : $29.79-$32.77
