About the Position:
Join us in this exciting role overseeing the historic Columbia River Pile Dikes renovation. We're seeking an experienced Construction Quality Assurance Professional for a temporary five-month, full-time position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vancouver Office.
Job Type: Full-time Temporary 5-month assignment (See work periods below)
*This position includes room & board, a work vehicle, health benefits, 401k eligibility on day one, and paid holidays.
Available overtime pay.
*This position requires a construction background and computer proficiency. QA experience is a definite plus; however, we can train you if you want to work in a marine construction environment and learn.

This project’s work site is just off the Chinook shore. The barge leaves and returns daily to the docks in Chinook. Lodging is provided in a rented private home that’s a short walk to the ocean in Long Beach, WA, 15 minutes from the work site.
Project Duration:
This position is full-time temporary work that falls within the In-Water Work Window (IWWW)
- July 1st-November 30th, 2025
- July 1st-November 30th, 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily quality assurance inspections of construction activities
- Monitor the contractor's quality control and safety programs
- Prepare and submit detailed digital inspection reports through USACE systems, including photo documentation and proper formatting protocols
- Ensure compliance with environmental requirements and permits
- Verify construction accuracy against plans and specifications
- Participate in quality control meetings and safety oversight
Work Environment:
- Perform daily work onboard a construction barge (no overnights)
- An Office onboard the barge will be provided for efficient work performance
- Willingness to work in adverse conditions for extended periods, including inclement weather.
Compensation:
- Competitive compensation is contingent on skill and experience.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of construction experience (in heavy civil projects is preferred), or a relevant college degree
- NACI Clearance (or the ability to obtain it)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
- Experience with USACE projects and procedures
- Background in pile dike construction and marine projects
- Familiarity with quality control processes and reporting
- Knowledge of USACE and OSHA safety requirements
Salary : $30 - $45
