Kennel Manager

Job Summary
The Kennel Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the kennel facility, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all animals in our care. This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong background in animal care and management. The Kennel Manager will lead a team of staff members, implement best practices for animal handling, and maintain a clean and organized environment for both pets and personnel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily kennel operations, including staff management and scheduling.
• Ensure proper care and handling of all animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising.
• Implement training programs for staff on animal restraint techniques and pet grooming.
• Maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and any incidents that occur.
• Coordinate with veterinary professionals for routine check-ups and emergencies.
• Oversee cleanliness and sanitation protocols within the kennel facility.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols to protect both staff and animals.
• Provide guidance on dog training techniques to enhance behavior management.
• Foster a positive environment for both employees and pet owners through excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kennel or animal care setting is preferred.
• Strong skills in animal handling, including experience with heavy lifting when managing larger breeds.
• Knowledge of dog training methods is advantageous.
• Familiarity with veterinary assistant or technician duties is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, pet owners, and veterinary professionals.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare and facility cleanliness.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week

Shift:

• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift

Work Days:

• Holidays
• Weekends as needed
