WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The Title Examiner conducts comprehensive title insurance research and provides professional services for purchases, construction, refinances, or equity loans.
Location, Schedule Availability & Salary Information
- Ogden, Utah
- Monday through Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Guaranteed base wage Bonus Incentive
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Research county records for residential and commercial properties in multiple counties and/or states.
- Examine chains of title for properties of varying complexity to determine ownership status and encumbrances affecting the title.
- Analyze title research results, reviewing various documents—often back to the property's root title—to determine the appropriate legal description, vesting information, and method to reflect encumbrances in the title report.
- Complete real estate title property reports ranging from simple to moderately complex, occasionally requiring guidance or support from senior staff.
- Perform duties with a high level of accuracy, adhering to documented procedures and processes.
- Complete work efficiently to meet customer service level targets.
- Use various public, private, and proprietary software applications to gather and analyze data and prepare title products.
- Investigate and interpret tax records to determine tax liability.
- Create and maintain title files, documenting all research.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and escrow personnel.
Experience, Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience with residential and/or commercial abstracting is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and productively.
- Basic understanding of real estate title concepts and legal documents, or the ability to quickly learn these concepts through training.
- Proficiency with general PC software, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet browsers.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, including basic mathematical calculations and the ability to manage tasks requiring detail, focus, and accuracy.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to efficiently type and prepare research reports.
