Position Description:
You will serve as an Attorney at our firm, overseeing a caseload of personal injury cases from intake to trial. The ideal candidate is comfortable in the courtroom and capable of working independently with the team to achieve favorable outcomes.
Your role will involve evaluating cases, conducting investigations, negotiating settlements, and preparing cases for trial. You will handle depositions, motions, and other pre-trial tasks, as well as handling expert witnesses and performing jury selection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discovery & Motion Practice: Prepare and serve written discovery, handle motion practice, including dispositive motions. Conduct follow-ups with opposing counsel regarding deficiencies.
- Negotiation & Settlement: Evaluate each case, negotiate aggressively with insurance adjusters, and keep clients informed throughout the process.
- Trial Preparation & Trial: Prepare trial documents, pretrial motions, and assist in jury selection. Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials as necessary.
- Communication & Reporting: Keep clients informed of case progress, report on status to senior leadership, and participate in regular case strategy meetings.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
- Case Management Skills: Strong aptitude for managing multiple clients, projects, and deadlines with a focus on organization and follow-through.
- Independence & Leadership: Ability to work independently, manage cases from start to finish, and lead a team of paralegals and legal assistants.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, and the courts.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with an eye for detail and adherence to deadlines.
