We are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated Property Accountant that will join our finance team with primary responsibilities of maintaining property’s books and records, assisting with monthly and annual close, and preparing financial performance reports.
This is not a remote position; it is an on-site Monday-Friday, 9-5pm work schedule.
Who You Are
You are detail-oriented accountant with a passion for driving efficiency and improving processes.
You have at least 5 years of real estate accounting experience.
You have a solid understanding of the Real Estate industry’s business operations.
Responsibilities of Property Accountant:
Responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, cert audit preparation, internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities of Property Accountant:
Responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, cert audit preparation, internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting.
- Record monthly/quarterly/annual accounting journal entries to ensure financial statements are in accordance with GAAP and Tax basis.
- Prepare accurate and timely quarterly and annual financial statements and variance analysis through the use of the Yardi ERP.
- Review general ledger transactions to ensure coding is accurate and all ending balances tie out to supporting documents.
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations.
- Coordinate with other departments, including operations, leasing, and marketing to prepare annual budgets and variance explanations.
- Dedication to continuous improvement of accounting processes through the automation of the accounting tasks and reporting.
- Assist with external reporting requirements.
- Support Controller with special tasks and projects as requested.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with at least 5 years of experience.
- Experience with Residential & Commercial property accounting including work paper preparation, capital expenditures and depreciation.
- Sound analytical abilities.
- Excellent Excel skill set (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, PIVOT TABLE)
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, & Outlook
- CPA a plus.
